For generations of students who attended Keith Junior High School, this space brings back memories instantly
The cafeteria — just as many remember it — has long been one of the most recognizable gathering places in the building. From school lunches and conversations with friends to everyday moments that became lifelong memories, this room has been part of the Keith story for decades.
But change is coming.
Soon, construction will begin to completely transform this historic space into something entirely new. The current 7,000-square-foot open floor plan will be redeveloped into five high-end residential units designed to combine modern living with the character and history of the original school building.
One thing that won’t change, however, is the incredible setting. This area offers some of the best views in Altoona, making it a truly unique place to live while preserving a meaningful piece of local history.
Right now, the cafeteria still looks much like it always has — wide open, familiar, and full of memories. But before long, this space will take on a completely new identity as part of the continued transformation of the former Keith Junior High School.
For alumni and community members alike, it’s a chance to appreciate the past while looking ahead to the future.
