Keith Jr High School Renovations

Work continues at Keith Junior High School as crews focus on improving both the safety and appearance of the historic property — this time by removing several large dead trees surrounding the building.

On the side of the school, tree crews from Kaifer Tree Service have been carefully taking down aging and damaged trees that had grown too close to the structure over the years. While the work is no small task, the results are already making a dramatic difference.

With the trees removed, the side of the building is now far more visible, allowing natural light to reach the apartment units and revealing architectural details that had previously been hidden behind overgrowth. One particular tree being removed had begun rubbing directly against the building, causing visible damage near a stairwell area.

Although removing mature trees is never the preferred option, safety and preservation became the priority. Dead trees not only pose a hazard during storms and winter weather, but they can also create long-term structural damage when branches and trunks press against masonry and roofing systems.

The good news is that the landscaping plan does not end with removal. New trees and greenery are expected to be replanted out front, helping create a refreshed and welcoming exterior while protecting the long-term integrity of the property.

As renovations continue both inside and outside the building, Keith Junior High continues its transformation into a revitalized space that blends historic character with thoughtful restoration.

Even on a cold winter day, progress is clearly visible — and the building just keeps looking better with every step forward.
