Keith Jr Highschool Sprinkler System

Reporting from Keith Hilltop Terrace after a very long day — and a very long weekend of cold weather.

Our team has been working night and day trying to keep all of our properties from freezing.

Today, I was looking forward to a quiet day to catch up, but at 8:30 this morning, the sprinkler head above me froze and burst.

The very day I was hoping to take a break, we were running hard again.

It would be easy to complain, but instead I want to thank the people who helped us get through today with minimal damage.

First, I want to thank Jesus. This happened at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning — not at midnight or 2:00 a.m. It could have been catastrophic.

I also want to thank Red Shamrock Construction. They’ve been preparing this building for permitting and renovations, and today they were incredible problem-solvers.

If you need something done, Barry Keller and Red Shamrock are outstanding.

I want to thank the fire department as well.

Bill Yeckley answered on the third ring and walked us through shutting off the sprinkler system, which saved us from a lot more damage.

I also want to thank Pinnacle Cleaning. They had equipment and materials on-site, and when I called Jeff Pop for help, he immediately said, “Go for it.”

Thank you to Pinnacle for being generous and for all the great work they’ve done for us.

I want to thank our team too. Everyone stepped up in the middle of the chaos and worked incredibly hard to minimize the damage.

And finally, I want to thank our tenants. Today showed me just how amazing the people here really are.

We had tenants dealing with significant water in their apartments, and not one person complained.

Instead, they encouraged us and thanked us while we were cleaning water off the floors.

I truly appreciate how supportive everyone has been as we continue making this a better place to live.

The greatest generation is absolutely real. You guys are wonderful, and thank you for loving us well while we work to improve this building for you.

It’s after 6:00 now, and we’re still here cleaning, making sure there’s no mold risk and that everything stays safe.

But today reminded me that when people come together to solve problems instead of blaming each other, incredible things can happen.

This was definitely one more eventful chapter in the story of this building, but we’re looking forward to better days ahead.

Honestly, after seeing how everyone came together today, I’m almost thankful it happened. Almost.

Hopefully the next video you see from me will be a little less dramatic. Have a great evening.
